Anthony Watts

Anthony Watts is the editor of the blog "Watt's Up With That?" and a meteorologist. He is also a vocal climate change skeptic.

Watts served as a television meteorologist for 25 years and continues to broadcast over the radio. He claims that "weather measurement and weather presentation technology" are his speciality and therefore he provides weather monitoring services to various weather stations.

In 1987, he founded ItWorks, which supplies broadcast graphics systems to hundreds of cable television, television, and radio stations nationwide. ItWorks supplies custom weather stations, Internet servers, weather graphics content, and broadcast video equipment.

In 2007, Watts founded SurfaceStations.org, a Web site devoted to photographing and documenting the quality of weather stations across the U.S.

He also owns the company IntelliWeather, which provides weather graphics and imagery.

Facing criticism for his views on climate change, Watts argues: "While I’m not a degreed climate scientist, I’ll point out that neither is Al Gore, and his specialty is presentation also."

Watts contends that climate change is not caused by increasing CO2 levels. He claims he previously believed in that notion but abandoned it after doing research and realizing the theory lacked sufficient scientific support.

Yet, though he challenges global warming, Watts does partake in several "green" initiatives. A supporter of energy saving and alternate energy efforts, Watts drives an electric vehicle and has added solar panels, LED lighting, timer switches, and further insulation to his home.
